If you've only started following me, then you might not be aware that I was engaged to a wonderful man for seven months. I say this in the past tense because last March 5, 2012, we finally tied the knot.
It was a wonderful civil wedding, despite the fact that our families were not there, because it was our time to finally commit to each other. We simply wanted to get it over with and call each other husband and wife so bad LOL!
This may come off weird to some and common to others, but we're actually going to get married twice. The second wedding will be the whole shebang, with families and friends back in the Philippines. It may be after two years, but it will give us time to cherish one another and go through rough patches together in order to have a strong marital relationship. Then I can finally walk down that aisle, looking at him, and know deep in my heart, that we are coming together as one in front of everyone and a higher being, in all honesty.
I couldn't have asked for anything more than what I had that day. We spent the day laughing and getting all jittery and restless while getting ready. Obviously I took the longest time ever! I was debating whether or not I would put my hair up like in our photo shoot, or curl it and let it down. I decided on the latter.
My dress was from Jessica Howard. It was love at first sight! The moment I saw it and tried it on, I didn't bother to fit anything else.
I especially love the jewel detailing of it and how the fabric layers on the side, dropping on my left leg. To see for yourself, here's a picture of me wearing it.
I absolutely am in love with this dress and it fits my body shape perfectly. It's not too showy, but not boring either (As always!) It's so comfortable too. The fabric is so soft on my skin. I swear I can wear this over and over again.
When I was looking for my shoes, I was deciding between two types, the Steve Madden satin nude pumps with stones on the heels that literally sparkled when hit with light and a silver glitter pump. Obviously, we all know which one won.
They may not be the most comfortable shoes out there, but whoever said gorgeous came easy?
For our rings, my mom wanted us to pick something that came in pairs, but i insisted I keep my engagement ring on. So we had to find something not too overpowering, since my engagement ring is quite bulky. This is what I am talking about.
So we finally picked our rings and we're more than happy about it. It was so exciting when a shot of both rings dropped in a glass of water came about. It's so dreamy looking! I love it!
Aren't they awesome?! I love these shots! I'm sure you can tell which one is mine right? These photos are something we would most definitely have framed and displayed at our place.
This is a photo of me wearing both my engagement and wedding ring. I'm sorry, I can't seem to save photos uploaded on Twiter now, and I am too lazy to upload it from my iPhone :D
Here are some random pictures in the court house during the ceremony.
And here are a few more photos from our shoot the day before. I wore two different eye looks and I'm planning on doing a tutorial for both since they can be worn for Spring time or even your own wedding!
I just wanted to share this pivotal moment in my life with all of you, and I want to thank you for your support. I truly appreciate it! For those that have been with me since the beginning, you've practically seen me grow up and take on different phases in life, and I am so happy knowing that I have you with me.
Thank you for taking the time to read this post and tell me if you want me to do a makeup tutorial on the two looks I wore on my special days.
Have a great day!
Janah xo
