Make your eyes look subtly bigger!

I know that being Asian can sometimes, if not, all the time, mean that we have small eyes. Small eyes are beautiful too, but when we're in a mood for a change, of course we can't just magically make our eyes bigger... but with makeup, life is a lot easier.

So if you've been wanting to make your eyes look bigger, but you don't know the important details then, maybe I can help.

If you're a beginner and you've tried so many times, don't feel too bad because practice makes perfect. Familiarize yourself with your features and identify which ones flatter you. It's the same with making your eyes bigger or defining it.

What works for others may not work for you because you have a different eye shape. So, I made a tutorial that provides the general concept on how to achieve big eyes.

Here are the list of products I used:
  • Revlon cream eye shadow quad (silver)
  • Wet n' wild Mega shimmer in Golden poppy
  • L'oreal Studio Secrets  infinite wear quad in Woodrose
  • L'oreal lineur intense in Carbon black (liquid eyeliner)
  • Brown Kohl pencil
  • Styli style black eye pencil in absolute black
  • Heng Fang mascara in absolute black
  • Nichido spot concealer
Mostly you need eye pencils. It only takes shadowing and shaping to achieve a subtle look. Here is how I did my tutorial

If you're wondering what I used on my face. Here is the list of products:

  • MAC prep & prime
  • Maybelline Superstay foundation
  • Ever Bilena mousse concealer in Pure beige
  • Ever Bilena two way cake foundation
  • MAC bronzer in Refined Golden
  • ELF blush & bronzer duo (bronzer)
  • ELF Studio blush in mellow mauve
  • ELF Mist & Set spray

Here are more tips on how to avoid a hot mess when it comes to doing your eyes for this look:
  1. Avoid black eyeliner on the lower lash line to frame it.
  2. Avoid using white eye liner on the waterline.
  3. Use subtle and neutral eye shadow shades for the lids.
  4. Choose false lashes that wing out at the edge to blend with the flick of your eye liner.
  5. Avoid synthetic looking false lashes.
  6. Keep everything else on your face minimal.
