Off The Streets: Fashion for a Cause

I am not a social butterfly. I don't know a lot of people in the Fashion industry or even in Cebu's "society" but when my friend Anne emailed me about this event. I seriously wanted to help. I don't really go to fashion shows or fashion related events because...let's just say, it's not my thing. But I am asking you guys to take the time to pause and read on as I share with you what this particular event is for.

The Mobile School Foundation is a government funded organization under the Cebu City Task Force for Street Children and was established in the year 1994. It aims to provide less privileged and abandoned children a chance to have an education.

Since then, the foundation has benefited 5,904 daycare children and has sent 500 students to formal education.

These children are the ones we see on the streets.

Fives times in a week, the foundation goes to five different barangays and pick up children who want to learn. They are transported via two Kaoshung buses and one Japanese donated bus that also serves as their "library".

There are only two to four teachers available. They handle 100-150 students a day.

Can you imagine this scenario?

I hope that you will find it in your heart to help by simply attending this event on October 6, 2011 at the Penthouse. As you can see on the poster, entrance is 300 php only.

I know you have partied the night away in this venue countless times. Now, it's time to party for a cause. Spread the word!
